A tangible way to help the people of the Ukraine
It is so great to see the on-line support for the people of the Ukraine with photos of Sunflowers (the national flower of the Ukraine).
Since I didn’t have any photos of a sunflower, I am using the closest photo I had to the bright cheery sunflowers that represent the homeland of my parents and grandparents.
I have thought a lot about the best way to support the people who’s home and lives are being systematically destroyed and disrupted all because someone else wants what they have and is taking it by force. I struggle with the concept of just putting up an image or a flag to state my support on social media when I fear it will do so little to help those who’s lives are being so drastically changed.
So I encourage all of us to look for tangible ways to help. If you have ideas that you think would help this country and it’s people, I would love to hear them!
I know the work of MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) as they do send all proceeds to help those in need and if you would like to check out the work of this organization and their efforts to help the Ukrainians, you can read more here: https://donate.mcc.org/cause/ukraine-emergency-response
I will be donating personally and I am also adding an additional donation to every session booked at our up-coming Tulip Farm Photo and Print Art Special Event. Please consider helping in a tangible way in whatever way you can. (You can find out more about this here).
Blessings,
Lara
